The biggest domestic airport in Japan.
Haneda Airport had been the largest domestic airport until it became an International Airport in 2010. Since then, Itami Airport (伊丹空港) is the biggest in terms of the number of flights and passengers in Japan. With an increasing number of foreigners traveling to Japan, Itami Airport is trying to welcome more passengers from other countries.
Because the airport is convenient to access to Kansai region, especially Osaka, Kyoto and Kobe, there are so many souvenir choices available from these cities. Even though you are planning to fly off from another International Airport to your home country, it will be a great idea to enjoy last shopping in Kansai region!

Where are the souvenir shops?
Although the airport is not that big, there are quite a few souvenir shops.
Ground floor of the airport is used as a check-in area, with some convenience stores. More stores and restaurants are on the first floor, where Security Area and boarding gates are located.
Because the airport is not used for international flights, you do not have to worry about immigration, but some of the shops are located after the Security Area, which means the access to the shop is restricted only for arriving / departing passengers.
Souvenirs are available at the following shops.
- Kansai Tabi Nikki, central block
- ITAMI Marche
- KIYASU Sohonpo, Japanese sweets
- Tabi Sora
- Uncle Rikuro’s Cheesecake
- ANA Festa
- Ippinsan
- Namiyoshian
How much time do we need to complete shopping?
The airport is compact, and all the shops are next to each other, so you will not have to spend so much time on shopping.
There are two terminals in the airport. You can move to another one using a corridor between them. Each terminal has different shops, so try to find as many souvenirs as you wish!
The selection of the souvenirs at the airport is almost the same as in the city. It could be a good idea to complete shopping at Itami Airport to save your energy and time.
What are the precautions?
Traditional Japanese sweets we have introduced to you have a short expiry date. They are very easy to deteriorate, so check the date carefully when buying an item.
Also, there is no Duty-Free shopping as of June 2023. If you want to buy items tax-free, try to find a souvenir shop that has tax-free like Don Quijote or in the international airport after the passport process.
Also, see the list of No-Pork meal restaurants in Itami Airport.
Souvenirs we have introduced in this page are not made as Halal or Muslim-friendly, so there is a risk of contamination which cannot be found from the label. We are here to translate the label, and it is your own decision to eat them.
