Chugoku area is located between Kinki and Kyushu area, and it is made up of 5 prefectures. Okayama(岡山), Tottori(鳥取), Shimane(島根), Hiroshima(広島), and Yamaguchi(山口). The area‘s biggest city may be Hiroshima(広島) with the Hiroshima Airport (HIJ/広島空港), however, unless you are flying from Asian countries, taking a Shinkansen bullet train from Kinki region would be more ideal.
Because the area except Hiroshima is less touristic, you may enjoy the trip in a tranquil ambiance. There are many hot springs, traditional streets and newly-nominated World Heritage sites. Of course, the capital Hiroshima has Japan’s one of the most amazing views, too.
