The area which is located at the north-western part of Japan is called Tohoku region and this area consists of Aomori(青森), Akita(秋田), Iwate(岩手), Yamagata(山形), Fukushima(福島) and Miyagi(宮城) where the region’s capital Sendai is located.
The area is one of the least visited regions in Japan, however, with their agricultural sceneries, this is where foreign tourist can enjoy nomadic Japan.
The entrance airport of Tohoku area will be Sendai Airport (SDJ/仙台空港), with a few Asian international flights. However, Shinkansen bullet train could be one of the good options to take if you are traveling to / from Tokyo area.
