Yamanashi, whose capital city is Kofu (甲府), is located in between Kanagawa, Nagano and Shizuoka. It is a real mountain prefecture, which does not have a coast. Although there is no ocean, the prefecture has the highest mountain of Japan, Mt. Fuji, and other amazing nature beauties.
Yamanashi produces many fruits, too. Their grapes are made into wine, which is not quite common product in Japan. Peach, muscat, and pear are also a number one brand and they are sold at very expensive prices.
People are proud of a Military General, Shingen Takeda (武田信玄). You may see his steps everywhere throughout prefecture.
