Aomori is located at the most northern part of mainland. As the name Aomori indicates, which literally means blue forests, the area has abundant forests and mountains. The capital is Aomori city.
The prefecture’s specialty is apple. It is said that more than 60% of the apples are made in Aomori. Their garlic, mackerel fish and squid are also known for its great quality and quantity.
