Oita is a prefecture of hot springs, whose capital city is also Oita (大分). There are so many prestige hot springs in the prefecture, which has attracted Japanese honeymooners. As is often the case with hot spring place, the prefecture is mountainous, but the prefecture is facing to ocean, too. This fact makes the prefecture more attractive for tourists.
Their specialty is mackerel fish and a type of citrus called Kabosu (かぼす). 90% of all Kabosu is produced in Oita, which you may find inside the hot spring water for their nice flavor.
