Gumma is located in the middle of mountains without ocean, whose capital is Maebashi (前橋). With an easy access to Tokyo city center, there are a lot of people who are commuting from Gumma. It takes only about 1.5 hour to get to Tokyo city center, without transferring trains.
Gumma is rich in water supply thanks to the second longest river, Tonegawa (利根川), and with enough sunshine, they produce a lot of vegetables, too. Konnyaku (蒟蒻) potatoes and leeks are the top brand of Gumma.
