Shiga is a prefecture in Kinki region, next to Kyoto. The capital city is Otsu (大津). When Japanese people think about Shiga, they may come up with the Japanese biggest lake, Biwako (琵琶湖). The lake is a source of tap water in most of the Kinki prefectures.
When many tourists think about historical spots, they may only think about going to Kyoto or Nara, but well, Shiga is actually a spot where we can enjoy historical walk, too.
