Fukui is a prefecture on the Japan Seaside, with the capital Fukui city (福井市). The prefecture is less known to foreign tourists; however, it is a prefecture with lots of adventures.
The prefecture is known for dinosaurs, especially Katsuyama city (勝山市). About 80% of all the fossils of dinosaurs in Japan are found here in Fukui. Even new species were discovered, and this is why their names have Fukui in it. It is nominated as a Geo Park, a park where people can feel the history of the Earth.
