Mie is a prefecture located between Chubu and Kinki area, with the capital city Tsu (津). Facing to the Pacific Ocean, the prefecture has a lot of brilliant places on the beach, but at the same time, it is rich in mountains, too.
The prefecture has been a touristic place since long time ago. Many Japanese people, from old times, visited Mie for their travel destination. There are a lot of touristic spots, however, the prefecture is also successful in industry as well.
