Sapporo’s Halal restaurant
Sapporo

Sapporo’s cozy restaurant in a hotel! Farm to table TERRA is our recommendation.

What about Muslim-friendly dining experience in a hotel?

Sapporo is one of the five largest cities in Japan and is the most visited city after Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka, despite being located far from the mainland and requiring a flight.

There are many hotel options to choose from, but if you haven’t yet decided where to stay, consider Hotel Mystays Premier Sapporo Park. This hotel offers several Muslim-friendly amenities.”

Which restaurant offers Muslim-friendly menus?

Hotel Mystays Premier Sapporo Park has a restaurant called Farm to Table TERRA, located on the ground floor of the hotel.

The restaurant features a high ceiling and is adorned with impressive green trees that greet customers as they enter. The atmosphere gives the feeling of dining in a forest.

The restaurant is also inspired by the well-known outdoor brand Snow Peak. You will find their chairs and cooking utensils throughout, which are both stylish and functional. This design helps create the feeling of taking a break in nature.

What kind of Muslim-friendly meal do they offer?

The restaurant is not halal-certified, but they offer no-pork/no-alcohol meals, featuring fresh vegetables. They also have some vegetarian options, and all of this information is clearly stated on the menu.

But wait a minute—does ‘no-pork/no-alcohol’ mean halal? What about their beef burger with this logo?

To ensure the dish is halal, the beef in the burger must be halal, but unfortunately, this information was not readily available. When we asked the staff if they used halal meat, alhamdulillah, they confirmed that the meat is indeed halal!

So, their no-pork/no-alcohol meals are halal, and their meat is halal as well.

How is their meal?

The menu offers many healthy options, with plenty of fresh vegetables, but the best part is the free salad bar! While not all items in the salad bar are Muslim-friendly, allergens are clearly listed, and it is easy to identify which items are suitable for Muslims.

They also have a Tea/Coffee bar where you can refill as much as you like. The coffee is hand-dripped, which adds a fun touch to the experience, allowing you to enjoy a little bit of outdoor life.

We ordered the vegetable soup curry with 16-grain rice, which can also be served as vegan.

The soup curry is a specialty of Hokkaido, but this version had more of an Indian-style flavor, likely due to the beans used in the curry. It is served with large cuts of vegetables and potatoes, which is also typical of the local soup curry style.

The curry is served in Snow Peak’s outdoor utensils, adding a unique touch to the experience.

With a generous portion of rice and the free salad bar, it was a satisfying meal.

Details of the restaurant

The restaurant is located in a hotel close to city center of Sapporo, 5 minutes walk from Nakajima Koen station on metro Nanboku Line.
