Tokyo Skytree has become one of the major tourist attractions in Tokyo. It’s not just the tower itself—there is also a shopping mall called Soramachi Town, which caters not only to Japanese visitors but also to many international tourists.
On the 6th floor of Soramachi Town, you’ll find a restaurant called AMARA. Save this name if you want to be sure where to go for Halal food.
Tokyo Skytree opened in May 2012 in Oshiage, an area near the traditional temple district of Asakusa. The tower stands 634 meters tall, making it the tallest TV tower in the world and the third tallest building overall. Skytree has an observatory where you can enjoy breathtaking views from one of the world’s tallest structures.
Ticket prices vary depending on the date of your visit and your age. For adults, admission to the Tembo Deck (350 meters high) ranges from 2,400 to 2,600 yen. If you’d like to include the Tembo Galleria (450 meters high), the price ranges from 3,100 to 3,400 yen.
Don’t forget that there is a special discount of 400 yen if you book online in advance!
Shopping Mall and Aquarium.
Tokyo Skytree also offers plenty of shops and attractions that everyone can enjoy, including families with small children. The souvenir shops cater to international visitors, making their selections appealing for Muslim travelers as well.
Inside the complex, you’ll also find the Sumida Aquarium, a popular spot. Although the aquarium is relatively small, it features penguins, Japanese giant salamanders, and other charming marine creatures. It’s a great place to visit with kids—or to cool down on a hot summer day.
The only Halal restaurant in Tokyo Skytree.
The 6th floor of Soramachi Town is dedicated to restaurants. Among them is Amara, a popular Indian restaurant serving Halal and vegetarian dishes, trusted by many Muslim visitors. Originally founded in 1958 in Kolkata, India, Amara brings authentic flavors to Tokyo.
The restaurant features a traditional tandoor oven for perfectly baked naan and flavorful tandoori chicken. Their curries use more than 20 spices in each dish, balancing rich taste with healthy ingredients. The menu offers a wide variety, including the Soramachi Set, Skytree Platter, and Amara Special.

For families, a Kids Plate is also available. Set meals start from 1,890 yen, while lighter options such as a single curry or biryani are available for around 1,200 yen.
Where to pray?
Asakusa, an area nearby, has a masjid, but it is a bit far. Soramachi Town has a prayer room, which can be used without prior reservation!
When you go to 5th floor, head to a corridor. Then, around the corner, you will have a private space clearly mentions “prayer space”.
Although the area is not as big as masjid, they have both male and female prayer spaces, fitted with Wudu space and prayer mats. If you don’t have enough time, the this prace can be a perfect choice for your prayer.
