Shotaian is one of the most successful Yakiniku BBQ chain in Japan, with one of their branches in Bang Kok. As the number of Muslim travelers are on rise, they have decided to open one of their restaurants in complete Halal style.

Their Kanda branch is the first and only Halal-certified location as of June 2025. Let’s take a look at how special their dining experience is.

What is special about their meat?

As you may know, Wagyu is considered one of the finest types of beef in the world and is a must-try experience when visiting Japan. However, it can still be difficult to find meat that is processed according to Islamic law.

Shotaian has made this possible by purchasing whole cows and partnering with a certified organization to process the meat in accordance with Halal standards. This allows the restaurant to serve top-quality meat that is fully Halal.

What is included in the course?

To ensure the best dining experience, the resataurant has prepared a luxurious Halal beef course named “Taiga”. The course includes following:

-3 Kinds of Namul, Korean-style appetizers
-Broiled Wagyu Beef Sushi and Yukhoe Raw

They offer a variety of meats prepared in different styles to ensure an exceptional dining experience. The portions are more than generous, but what surprised us the most was that they also serve dishes like Chazuke (a rice bowl with dashi broth), Tsukemen noodles, and cold noodles—if you still have room!

All of this is included in a course meal priced at just 11,500 yen (approximately 80 USD).
