Tottori

Tottori

Tottori is a prefecture that faces to the Japan sea, whose name of the capital is also Tottori (鳥取).  The prefecture is known for the smallest population out of all 47 prefectures in Japan.  The name of the prefecture literally means bird hunting, because the government ordered the governor of Tottori to catch birds and pay them as tax, long time ago.

Now, Tottori produces a lot of fruits, and their pears are well-known and of great quality.
