Inuyama is a small town located between Aichi and Gifu, but the name of the town is relatively known to people. This is because of Inuyama Castle, one of the five National Treasures of Japanese castles.
As Inuyama is located at the very convenient place to access to both Aichi and Gifu, many tourists pay a visit to this place. Let’s take a look at what are the things available for Muslims in the town.
Why is the castle that famous?
Inuyama Castle definitely makes the town famous, because it is one of the 5 castles that are protected as National Treasures by Japanese government.
Although many castles were built in the age of provincial wars in Japan, currently there are only 12 castles with its original roof in Japan. Inuyama Castle is one of them, which makes all of us convinced that it is a very precious, historical monument.
The castle was built in 1537 by Oda Nobuyasu (織田信康), who is a part of famous Oda family. When you go up the castle, you may see the reason why the castle was built here; there is a river close by, which actually was the natural border of two countries. To monitor the enemy country, the castle was built.
This is the reason why the access to two prefectures is very convenient even in modern days. It takes only about 1 hour from Nagoya or Gifu station by train. Leaving Nagoya and making a short trip in Inuyama, then you can continue to touristic places in Gifu.
